Eight ways to fight off flu - naturally! (July 2009)

With all the current hysteria surrounding swine flu, it can be difficult to sort good health information from bad. For the vast majority of people, influenza – of any variety, swine or otherwise – presents no serious health danger, and the best thing we can do to help protect ourselves is simply stay healthy.

In this special report, we take a look at a few simple ideas of how to boost your immune system naturally – obviously we recommend that you do further research to see what works best for you.

1. Antioxidants such as vitamins C, A and E have been shown to support the immune system and they also weaken the side effects which the immune system’s response has on the body e.g. runny nose. We should all be getting some of these as part of our diet, but supplements are a great way to top up. Click here to see the wide range of natural supplements offered by Forever.

2. Garlic doesn’t just kill vampires! The antioxidant properties of garlic are widely known, whether eaten as part of a meal or taken in capsule form. Forever’s Garlic-Thyme also includes the additional antioxidant benefits of thyme.

3. Raw fruit and vegetables generally have much higher levels of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fibre and enzymes than their cooked counterparts and will do wonders for your overall health as well as strengthening your immune system. Conversely, too much sugar, fat and alcohol adversely affects the immune system due to their damaging effect on white blood cells.

4. Over a century ago, Echinacea - a native American plant - was recognized as a natural infection fighter. It’s available in capsule form and is regularly prescribed by doctors in Germany as a cold and flu remedy. Forever’s Echinacea Supreme is an excellent source, and also includes goldenseal.

5. Simple herbal teas, such as ginger or cinnamon, are great immune-boosters, the stronger the better, so remember to brew it for a while (take a look at our Aloe Blossom Herbal Tea – a lovely cinnamon based hot drink).

6. Getting enough protein in your diet, drinking plenty of water, getting a good night’s sleep and observing basic hygiene will do wonders for your immune system. It may sound like plain common sense, but many of us could do better in one or more of these areas.

7. One of Forever’s best products when it comes to fighting infection is Bee Propolis, nature's finest antibiotic.

8. Finally, of course, let’s not forget Aloe Vera. Packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and numerous other beneficial substances, it acts as both an immune system booster and a natural antiseptic. The best way to take it is by drinking it – click here to see the range of aloe vera gel drinks offered by Forever.

We hope you’ve found this useful, and if you’d like to share any flu-beating natural remedies with us, we’d love to include these in later newsletters!

Until our next newsletter, stay well.

Cheers

Aloe for Health Newsletter 5 (July 2009)

Welcome to our fifth newsletter – in this edition, read Part 2 of Greg’s story about how his hair and his waistline have benefitted from aloe vera. The rest of Kirsten’s story will follow in later newsletters.

Also, following recent changes in EU regulations which lowered the acceptable level of certain vitamins and minerals in supplements, one of Forever’s popular supplements, Forever Pro-6 (which contains a number of vitamins and minerals associated with male prostate health) was withdrawn from sale on 1 July 2009. Greg takes a timely look at The Codex Alimentarius, a body of international guidelines which aims to govern the sale of natural products like vitamin and mineral supplements. If you have any interest whatsoever in natural health products, it’s something you should be aware of.

You’ll also find our regular Top Tips section, and thanks to all those who have sent in their ideas and suggestions – keep them coming!

Change to online ordering policy

From 1 July, all online orders are now processed by Forever via links from our website. You can pay by debit or credit card (no more Paypal invoices!), and Forever will post your order out to you within a couple of days. Delivery is by Royal Mail or courier and the cost never exceeds £5.95. Click here to browse our website. Thinner waistline, thicker hair (Greg’s story)

When it comes to shaving, I’ve discovered that aloe vera works very well for me. Once I started using the Aloe Liquid Soap as my daily face wash it didn’t take long for me to get thinking, and I tried using this instead of shaving gel or foam. I amazed even myself with the results. Not only is it easy to remove several days’ growth, the process is like shaving and washing at the same time.

Like many men, I can wash my hair with pretty much any shampoo and it does an acceptable job. However, in the interests of getting to know the products, I started using the Aloe-Jojoba Shampoo and occasionally the Aloe-Jojoba Conditioning Rinse. Both do a great job, as many of the fairer sex have enthusiastically testified (particularly Kirsten), but personally I’ve also noticed that my hair feels thicker than before and I need to have it cut slightly more often these days. The last thing I’d want to do here is turn this into a hair restoration info-mercial, but the positive effects are definitely noticeable and I put that down to the general healing and nourishing qualities of aloe vera itself.

One product I didn’t expect to find myself trying was Forever Lean, a formula which helps reduce absorption of calories from fat and carbohydrates. I’m generally sceptical about the claims made for ‘miracle’ diet pills which usually seem to be mostly about preying on people’s desperation to lose weight. However, when FLP came up with Forever Lean, I felt that, as with all the other products, the only way I could speak about it meaningfully was from personal experience. Fortunately – if you can call it that! - I’d wanted to lose a few pounds (who doesn’t?) so I thought I’d give it a shot.

FLP sensibly recommend that taking Forever Lean should be accompanied by a healthy diet and regular exercise. This may seem like common sense, but it’s advice often absent from the advertising of mass marketed weight loss products which often hold out the promise of weight loss with no effort. And I've experienced no side effects as a result of taking these pills - again, not something you can say about other weight loss products.

After a month of taking the pills with most meals (I’d forget from time to time), I felt pretty much the same but found to my surprise that I was seven pounds lighter. I hadn’t altered my eating habits or exercise regime – such that it is – at all during this time, so this would seem to provide some anecdotal evidence that Forever Lean may well be helpful as part of a weight loss programme.

Top Tips
1. Make your Aloe Propolis Creme (or any other lotion) last even longer – when coming to the end of a tube, cut it open near the lid and scoop out what’s left into a separate container.
2. The Aloe Heat Lotion is best applied when pores are closed, so avoid using straight after a hot bath (thanks to Carol Irvine of Carluke for this tip!)
3. Apply a dab of Forever Bright Toothgel to mouth ulcers for soothing relief and to promote healing.
4. Always carry an Aloe Lips with you – as well as being great for lips, you can use it on paper cuts, grazes, bites and stings.
5. Apply Aloe Ever-shield Deodorant Stick under the Aloe Sunscreen for double protection from the sun.

The Codex Alimentarius

The Codex Alimentarius is a collection of internationally recognized standards, codes of practice, guidelines and other recommendations relating to foods, food production and food safety.

The so-called ‘texts’ of The Codex Alimentarius are developed by the Codex Alimentarius Commission, a body established in 1963 by the United Nations (which has 192 member countries) and its agency the World Health Organization. Its stated aims are to protect the health of consumers and ensure fair practices in the international food trade, including the production, labelling and distribution of vitamins and supplements.

Currently, Codex exists merely as a set of voluntary reference standards but there are fears that its wider adoption and use may eventually lead to a situation where mandatory global control is exerted over personal health and dietary choices. There is some cause for concern in this area. For example, in 1996, a proposal was put forward that no herb, vitamin or mineral should be sold for preventive or therapeutic reasons, and that supplements should be reclassified as drugs. The proposal was agreed by the Commission, but protests halted its implementation.

In 2005, the ‘Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements’ were adopted and although this document does not seek to ban supplements, it subjects them to labelling and packaging requirements and sets criteria for dosage levels. Under these guidelines, member countries might choose to regulate dietary supplements as therapeutic goods or pharmaceuticals or by some other restrictive category. In Europe, the guidelines are effectively legally binding as they broadly follow the European Food Supplements Directive, which has been in force since 2005. The World Health Organization has stated that the guidelines are “to stop consumers overdosing on vitamin and mineral food supplements.”

This notion that consumers are regularly overdosing on vitamin and mineral food supplements seems somewhat risible when considered in the light of the massive ill-effects routinely caused by prescription medicines manufactured by multinational pharmaceutical corporations. Lobbyists for the pharmaceutical industry have worryingly taken a keen interest in the drafting of The Codex Alimentarius and it’s easy to imagine why. ‘Big Pharma’, as it is disparagingly known, has no interest whatsoever is achieving a healthy world population. Sickness is their industry, disease their profit. A tightly regulated system which classified supplements and herbal products as drugs to be sold only by ‘approved’ manufacturers would be a positive boon for Big Pharma and a potential disaster for small businesses and individuals.

With all this in mind, we would be well advised to be watchful for any attempt to restrict free access to vitamins, supplements and alternative remedies done in the name of protecting consumers. Are there rogue vitamin suppliers? Certainly. Are they a bigger problem than the dark side of Big Pharma? Consider this: In February 1992, the consumer research body Social Audit reported, on the basis of four studies between 1981 and 1988, that more than 10,000 hospital beds in the UK are taken up at any one time by people suffering adverse reactions to prescription drugs. Also, in May 1998, The Journal of the American Medical Association reported that “each year, prescription drugs injure approximately 1.5 million people so severely that they require hospitalisation, and 100,000 die.”

As things stand, there is no complete global control over our nutritional choices, but it is also clear that a structure which could be used to exercise such control is quietly being put into place. In a world where we are assaulted daily by pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, degenerating food quality and a host of environmental toxins and pollutants, increasing numbers of people are turning to organic and/or small scale food producers and natural remedies as a way to take control of and responsibility for their own personal well-being. The globalisation of rules and regulations should not be used to dumb down our choices and restrict diversity. Any attempt to do so should be met with a confident assertion of our common sense ability to choose what is right for ourselves in a free and open marketplace.

Well, that’s all for this newsletter – hope you’ve enjoyed it and do get in touch if you have any questions or comments. And please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested by using the link at the bottom of this page.

Aloe for Health Newsletter 4 - June 2009

Hi! We’ve been in business for over 6 months now, and this seems like a good time to share our story with you – both about how we got started, and what benefits we’ve had from the products. We’ll do this over the next few newsletters, and as always, we’ll be taking a closer look at some of those products along the way.

We’re also introducing a new regular section called Top Tips where we include lots of handy hints and ideas about Forever’s range of products. Please email us your own tips for later newsletters.

NEWS UPDATE

Over the last few weeks, we’ve received a very large number of requests for samples of our Aloe Moisturizing Lotion. After wondering where all these requests were coming from, we discovered that someone had posted a thread on the moneysavingexpert.com website about our offer of a free sample on request (that's a great website, by the way). It seems that this thread was picked up by a number of other websites, and so the enquiries flooded in!

A big thank you to everyone who got in touch, and we’re sorry if we haven’t got round to replying to everyone yet. We’ve had to limit the number of samples we’re sending out to 2,000. For those who subscribed to our newsletter but haven’t updated their contact details, you can do so now by clicking on Manage my Subscription at the end of this email, and we’ll do our best to get a sample out to you.

10% DISCOUNT OFF ORDERS PLACED BY 30 JUNE!

As a thank you to all our customers before the website changes take effect, we’d like to offer a 10% discount on all orders placed by the end of the month. Once you’ve selected your order, just enter the code AFH10 at ‘Vouchers’ on the first page of the shopping cart and we’ll deduct 10% from the total. Click here to browse our website.

Important change to online ordering policy

Following a recent change in Forever’s policy, online orders are now processed through Forever’s website. From 1 July, our website will have links to Forever's shopping cart. You can pay by debit or credit card, and Forever will post your order out to you within a couple of days. Delivery is by Royal Mail or courier and never the cost never exceeds £5.95.

We’ll be updating our website over the next couple of weeks to take into account these changes, and from 1 July, we will no longer have our own shopping cart. But if you live in the Leeds area and want to place an order for collection or delivery in person, just contact us direct.

A new business idea (Kirsten's story)

Picture the scene. May 2008, Leeds. It’s 11.30pm and I’m waiting for my friends in a dark car park to take part in a 13 mile charity midnight walk. To pass the time, I browse a stall selling aloe vera products, and I get chatting to a chap in a silver wig (well, it is for charity). I find out more about aloe vera, and how it is a natural aid to health and beauty. He gives me a sample to try at home and I fill out a form to find out more. We finish the walk in under four hours, and when I get home, I put the Aloe Heat Lotion on my aching feet. Blissful! Pungent, but blissful! I’m impressed.

I met the chap again a few days later (this time without the wig) and he told me all about the business opportunity. As a network marketing opportunity, the emphasis is on working the business at my own pace in my own way and the company, Forever Living Products, offer full training and support. The idea is that a lot of people do a little, and you build your business by selling the products (you don't have to do much) and showing others how to do the same. As your team grows, FLP pay you a team-building bonus, so your success depends on encouraging your team to be successful - a novel concept! I was initially sceptical (I am a lawyer, after all), and did a lot of research to see if the claims stood up to scrutiny. And I was surprised to find that they did. The initial outlay was pretty minimal (£200 for a large box of products and marketing literature, although you can join up with an initial spend of £100), and there’s no joining fee. So I filled out a distributor application form, bought my fast start pack, and then starting exploring what I could do with this new business…

Next time, I’ll tell you about our first few months and how we got things up and running.

Out with the old, in with the aloe (Greg’s story)

While Kirsten busied herself with the business side of things, I found myself gradually exploring the products themselves. Having done a certain amount of selling in the past, I understood how vital it is to believe in your product if you wish to be successful. Although there are still many FLP products I’ve yet to try for myself, starting with the everyday items such as tooth gel and deodorant, I’ve managed to work my way through quite a few.

Within a week of starting to use both the Forever Bright Toothgel and the Evershield Deodorant Stick, my regular products (which I’d used for about fifteen years) were consigned to the bin. In the case of the tooth gel, it was a combination of how my teeth felt after brushing and comparing the ingredients list with that of regular toothpaste produced by big pharmaceutical corporations that made up my mind. As for the deodorant, I’d always avoided stick and roll- on products as I disliked the residue they seemed to leave behind, never mind the fact that they didn’t even work that well. However, from day one, I found the aloe deodorant to be very effective and unlike my old spray-on products, it lasts for ages.

The most powerful product the company makes and yet probably the most difficult to quantify is the Aloe Vera Gel. Consumed daily, it can take several weeks for the effects to be felt in a generally healthy person, and even then these can be subtle. However, I’ve personally experienced radical improvements in my skin (which has always been very sensitive) that coincide exactly with drinking the gel, and the overall feeling of well-being is also palpable. Yes, it’s an expensive product, but with FLP’s generous money back guarantee, I’d urge everyone to give it a try as you really do have nothing to lose.

One area in which the aloe products make a huge difference to a large number of people is skin care. In tandem with the drinking gel, I’ve found use of one of FLP’s daily moisturizers to be enormously beneficial. However rich or light you like your moisturizer, there’s a product to suit your needs. I alternate between the Aloe Propolis Crème and the Aloe Moisturizing Lotion depending on the weather and how my skin feels on any particular day. My ski n has never been in better condition – it’s not perfect, but I’ve seen more improvement after using the aloe vera products than anything else I’ve bought in the shops.

Next time I’ll tell you about how I’ve discovered the best shaving routine ever, and also my experience of one of Forever’s new weight management products, Forever Lean.

TOP TIPS
1. Moisturize dry nails and cuticles by massaging Aloe Lips into them morning and evening.
2. Spray diluted MPD to clean your spectacles – they become much more resistant to dirt and grime.
3. For men prone to razor burn or those with tough beards, mix a few drops of Alpha-E Factor with Aloe Liquid Soap for a really smooth shave. (The Avocado Soap is also really good for shaving.)
4. Apply Aloe MSM Gel to eyebrows before plucking for pain relief and to reduce puffiness. (It’s also good for chilblains, bunions and sore feet generally.)
5. Spray on Aloe First before using hair straighteners to protect your hair and keep it lovely and soft (thanks to Carrie Wilby of Leeds for this tip!)

Well, that’s all for this newsletter – hope you’ve enjoyed it and do get in touch if you have any questions about the products or our business opportunity. And please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested by using the link at the bottom of this page.

Until next time!

Get ready for summer!

The winter is well and truly behind us now, and thoughts are turning to going on holiday and long days out in the sun (well, hopefully). Even a small amount of sun can be harmful, and high quality skin protection, sunscreen and aftersun products are a must.

Out and about
One of the best sun creams in our view is the Aloe Sunscreen. Suntan creams need to have a high SPF (Sun Protection Factor) to be effective (the minimum you should use is SPF 15), but often they can be difficult to absorb. At SPF 30, the Aloe Sunscreen gives great protection and skincare because of its high aloe content, it goes on like an ordinary moisturiser and is quickly absorbed, resulting in a smooth even tan. It protects against UVA and UVB rays. I use it when out hill walking and I love the way it makes my skin feel smooth and soft without leaving a sticky film. It remains effective in water for up to 40 minutes and is a natural insect repellent. It’s great for kids, and for those with sensitive or problem skin, and it doubles up as an aftersun lotion as well. A little goes a long way, making it great value for money.

Here’s what Susan Farr of Leeds has to say about the Aloe Sunscreen:

The sun cream is excellent. It left my skin smooth and well moisturised and protected me from the sun very well – I have a lot of eczema trouble with my skin and also a lot of allergies to ingredients in a lot of beauty products. I’ve been very pleased with this!”

Another great product is the Aloe Lips – as well as aloe vera, this comes with jojoba oil and petroleum jelly which soothes and moisturises dry lips.

Spray Aloe First on your hair before and after sunbathing to prevent dry and brittle hair. This is a water based version of Forever’s stabilised aloe vera gel, and is great for getting to all those hard-to-reach places. It’s also very soothing as an aftersun lotion and comes in a large 473ml bottle with trigger spray.

Aloe Sunscreen - £10.36
Aloe Lips - £2.42
Aloe First - £13.78

Aftersun products
If you do overdo it, it’s important to use something soothing and replenishing to give your skin the best chance of a speedy recovery, and aloe vera is excellent for this. One of my favourite products is Aloe First. Spray on liberally to soothe prickly heat, sunburn, rashes, bites and stings. The Aloe Vera Gelly - first aid in a tube – is also great for fast relief and quick healing of cuts, burns and abrasions.

For the highest percentage of pure stabilised aloe vera gel, the best way is to apply some of our Aloe Vera Gel – this is normally used as a drink, but with 98% pure aloe vera, it’s the closest thing to breaking open a leaf and using the inner gel as a soothing balm.

The Aloe Moisturising Lotion contains stabilised aloe vera gel, allantoin, apricot kernel oil and jojoba oil. It’s rich and soothing, and the elastin and soluble collagen keep your skin balanced after a day in the sun. It’s also a great base for makeup.

Aloe First - £13.78
Aloe Vera Gelly - £10.36
Aloe Vera Gel - £17.62
Aloe Moisturizing Lotion - £10.36

A natural bronzed look all year round
But if the thought of exposing that winter whiteness is keeping you under wraps, the Aloe Sunless Tanning Lotion could be just the thing to get this year’s tan started. Mandy Parsons from Leeds has been very impressed with the results, so we’ve asked her to tell you about it in her own words.

“It’s easy to apply even though it is white in colour when it comes out of the tube. It also moisturises skin (unlike others which I have used which tend to dry out the skin more), and leaves my skin feeling soft. You only need a small amount to do a reasonable area. It states on the directions to re-apply every 4-5 hours at first, but I found that by putting on one application and leaving it for a day, I achieved a glowing look without having to re-apply every 4-5 hours. I have only ever put on two applications to start the bronzed look - one on first day and the second on the second day! I love the fact that it looks very natural - many people I haven’t seen for a while have asked if I had been away. A lot of people at work have also told me how healthy and glowing I look after using it.”

For best results, exfoliate thoroughly before applying – the Aloe Scrub contains round spheres of jojoba that work gently to cleanse and exfoliate, without being irritating or harsh. Concentrate on knees, heels and elbows, as colour tends to be darker where the skin is dry. Add a little moisturiser at this points to prevent colour build-up (the Aloe Moisturizing Lotion is great for this). Then apply the Sunless Tanning Lotion from head to toe, working it in firmly but quickly. Use a little less on the knees, heels and elbows. It shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes from start to finish. It doesn’t rub off on clothes, and has a pleasant fragrance.

Aloe Sunless Tanning Lotion - £16.83
Aloe Scrub - £10.93

Newsletter No 2 - April 2009

Welcome to our second newsletter!

In this edition, we look at one of Forever’s unsung heroes – the Multi Purpose Detergent, which we think is one of their best and most versatile products. We also introduce the new Avocado Face & Body Soap, and as we’re now thankfully well and truly into spring, we highlight what can be done to combat allergies as summer approaches. Finally, we turn the spotlight on one of Forever’s consistently best-selling products – the amazing Aloe Ever-shield Deodorant Stick. Happy reading!

*NEW PRODUCT*
Enjoy the many benefits of 100% pure avocado in a bar of soap!

Forever have created this lovely new soap to complement their range of natural personal hygiene products. Made from 100% pure avocado butter, it is rich with vitamins A, B, D and E. Its cleansing properties nourishes and moisturises all skin types. We love the fresh citrus fragrance!

Avocado Soap - £4.55*

MPD – the only cleaner you’ll need
We’ve found that the Multi-Purpose Detergent does exactly what it says on the tin. This powerful, non-abrasive chemical-free cleaner can be used in an amazing number of ways, and it lasts for ages. In fact, we’re still on our first bottle, which we bought nearly 6 months ago. We haven’t actually found anything MPD can’t tackle – it even managed to clean the winter grime off my moped! It also works well on the car, both to clean it and to use as windscreen washer. And if you use it on your spectacles, you’ll find they remain cleaner for longer. But best of all is how well it works in the kitchen – a few squirts is all it takes to cut through the toughest grease and grime, leaving a shiny clean surface.

MPD comes in a large 1.89 litre container, it’s highly concentrated and is a thick, gloopy deep blue. Because it can be used for so many different things, we’ve managed to save a lot by not buying separate cleaning products. We even use it for the laundry! With every purchase, we’ll include a free trigger spray bottle which has a handy measurement gauge on the side.

MPD - £16.86*

Allergy alert
An allergic reaction to something is caused by the body’s immune system overreacting to a particular substance. The most common allergens are grass pollen, dust, animal hair, and insect bites and stings. The first rule for dealing with allergies is to remove the source of the allergen, wherever possible. The next thing to do is to look to your immune system. An allergic reaction occurs when the body thinks it’s under attack and a complex response is triggered involving an excess of histamine. The usual answer is to take antihistamine drugs or steroids/desensitizing injections. However, there are a number of products offered by Forever that are naturally designed to support the immune system and can calm down the body’s response to allergens. Drinking the Aloe Vera Gel is helpful, because aloe vera contains magnesium lactate, a natural antihistamine that suppresses the production of histamine. It also contains the polysaccharide acemannan, which is an immune balancer or immuno-modulator, acting on the chemical messenger system that controls the activity of white blood cells.

The Bee Pollen is also particularly effective as it acts like a natural desensitizer against allergies, stimulating a positive immune response in addition to building up the system nutritionally. Bee Pollen contains a bioflavonoid called quercetin that inhibits the release of histamine and contributes to a reduced allergic response. The body does not react to ingested pollen as it does when pollen gets into the eyes or nose. Bee Pollen should be started in small amounts and gradually built up to about 6-8 tablets a day, or even more in the run up to the pollen season. Vitamin C (in the form of Absorbent C) can also modify the allergic response, and is therefore a good companion to Bee Pollen and the Aloe Vera Gel. For bites and stings, the Aloe Vera Gelly is cool and soothing, and helps reduce itching and swelling.

The alternative antiperspirant – Aloe Ever-Shield
The Aloe Ever-Shield Deodorant Stick is a mild but effective antiperspirant that contains no harmful chemicals such as aluminium and zirconium. In 2006, scientists at Reading University found a possible link between the use of antiperspirants containing aluminium and the rising rate of breast cancer (click here for more information). The use of these chemicals can cause the hair shaft pores in the skin to block, which can lead to a build up of toxins. The chemicals can also enter the cells themselves and cause mutations to the DNA structure, which could lead to cancerous growth and can disrupt hormone levels.

The main ingredient is the solid Stabilised Pure Aloe Vera Gel that provides effective all day protection against underarm odour. It is gentle enough that it can be applied straight after shaving or underarm waxing without stinging. It can also be used under the arm during chemotherapy and radiotherapy (most clinicians advise against the use of chemical-based antiperspirants during treatment). As with many of the Forever products, it lasts for months, as those who already use it will know!

Because of its antifungal properties, the deodorant stick can also be used on feet to treat a number of conditions, eg athlete’s foot, although we would recommend you use a separate stick (for obvious reasons).

Aloe Ever-shield Deodorant Stick - £5.15*

That’s all until next month’s newsletter – we always welcome any comments or feedback. And remember to let us know if you want to pay by PayPal – we’re happy to send out a payment request if you’d prefer to pay online.

More about Aloe Vera
As we’ve found out more about this intriguing plant, we’ve continued to be amazed at the many ways it can benefit both people and animals. The active ingredients in pure aloe vera gel have been proven to have a beneficial effect on the immune system and epithelial tissue. Aloe vera is well known for being effective in treating burns because it speeds up the healing process and reduces scarring, but it has many, many more uses. Click here to watch a short presentation about this incredible plant with Dr Peter Atherton, a leading expert in aloe vera and its clinical applications.

Change to online ordering policy
Because of a change in Forever’s company policy, we can no longer accept online payments through our website. However, you can still place orders online, and as soon as we receive your order, we’ll send you an invoice and arrange a time for collection or delivery. Payment by cash or cheque is due on delivery (cheques payable to ‘Aloe for Health’), and if you do want to pay by Paypal, just let us know and we’ll send you a payment request direct. Orders posted within the UK are free! And of course, you can still order from us in person or by phone - whatever suits you best.
You can also make payment online through Forever’s own website by clicking on the link on our home page, but a delivery charge based on weight will apply.

VAT rate change
All prices on our website are inclusive of VAT at the old rate of 17.5%. We’re not sure how long the new rate of 15% will be around, so we’ve decided not to update the website for the time being. But we’ll always send you an invoice showing the correct amount to pay when placing orders online.

That’s all for now – look out for future newsletters with features on aloe vera and animals, the benefits of natural supplements, and how drinking aloe vera is one of the best ways to improve your health. Until then, take care, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best wishes
